SEXUAL INTEGRITY VIRTUAL SUMMIT
The workshop she established in 1997 for female sex addicts was the first of its kind in the country. Her book No Stones: Women Redeemed from Sexual Addiction was the first to address sexual addiction in women from a Christian perspective.
She is also the volume editor and contributing author of Making Advances – A Comprehensive Guide for Treating Female Sex and Love Addicts, which is the first clinical book on this topic.
Marnie is the author of a workbook for female sex addicts, clinical articles in peer-reviewed journals, and numerous inspirational articles. She is a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) through the International Institute of Trauma and Addiction Professionals, and she serves on their faculty for a Christian-based training program for clinicians and pastors.
Marnie is a frequent speaker at professional and recovery conferences, churches and schools, and her story has been featured on Dateline and in other media. She and David have been married since 1981 and love spending time with their family and grandchildren.
She reassures women that they are not alone in this struggle and that there is hope and healing. Marnie pursued clinical training as a marriage and family therapist, and God opened many doors of opportunity.
After a few years her ministry expanded to offer help to male sex addicts, partners of addicts, and couples struggling with sexual addiction through Bethesda Workshops, a non-profit treatment center in Nashville, TN.
Bethesda Workshops provides a clinical and spiritual place of healing where people can begin a process of restoration with God, themselves, with others, and within their marriages.
Bethesda Workshops uses the best clinical strategies coupled with Christian principles. Four-day intensive workshops provide a huge jumpstart to spiritual, emotional, behavioral, and relational healing.
All ministry staff are licensed clinicians with specific training in treating sex addicts and their partners.
Many have personal experiences of recovery and model healing in their own lives and relationships. Bethesda Workshops addresses the roots of addiction as well as practical tools for lifelong transformation.
